Why Do Babies Usually Not Sleep Through The Night?

September 12, 2020 By Liam Alexander Leave a Comment

When you conceived a baby, they can bring a lot of changes in your lifestyle, and theirs too. This lifestyle can include health, food, physical changes, and more responsibility. But for the first few months, sleeping at night may be difficult for most parents, and this problem can still crop up from time to time. Many babies carry on walking through the night even they are not hungry. And there are sorts of reasons why your baby may be waking through the night. So if your baby is waking at the night and making you feel disturbed,

5 Reasons Why Your Baby Isn’t Sleeping Through The Night

it’s important to make sure your child will sleep through the night. Check out this article, you’ll find some possible reasons why your baby won’t sleep, and some of the most common baby sleep problems.

Why Do Babies Usually Not Sleep Through The Night

Here we have listed some 5 common reasons why your baby is not getting enough sleep.

  • Baby is not falling asleep independently

Baby Sleep Miracle Review will help to make your baby is falling asleep with 100% independently with no props. Why is it so important to fall asleep on their own? We all know that every night the child falls asleep snuggled up to Mom, maybe with a boob or a warm bottle in her mouth. But imagine, when the baby wakes up everything has suddenly changed, the boob and bottle are nowhere to be found. So the change of scenery keeps happening night after night, the baby might start to fight sleep in order to prevent it from happening. Unlike adults, they are unable to get up and re-create these conditions the baby used to fall asleep. That’s why it is important to keep everything to be exactly the same when the baby falls asleep as it will be when they wake in the middle of the night.

  • Drowsy But Awake

This point really means that the baby is fed, dry, warm, loved, and aware they are being placed at a nap. When they’re at drowsy state, it means they’ve already entered the first two stages of sleep. So instead of nursing the baby until drowsy, make your bedtime routine short.

  • Feeding too close to sleep time

This will work against us in the same way that helping the baby to the drowsy state works against us. Also, feeding close to sleep time can cause a feeding-to-sleep association even if it’s not necessarily to sleep. This is because the last thing that we are doing at the end of the night, will be the first thing to remind in the child’s brain. But there’s popular advice to ‘tank baby up’ before putting them down for the night in the hopes that they will sleep longer. It can affect the digestion and would be difficult to sleep. So make sure to feed on bedtime, at least before 30 minutes, and feed your baby healthy food during the day to ward off any late-night hunger.

  • Daytime Schedule

As we have discussed in the above point, tanking baby up won’t help them sleep longer, and more day sleep leads to more night sleep. So the more baby sleeps during the day, the more baby will sleep at night. To make sure the baby isn’t kept awake at night you need to make sure you respect your child’s need for sleep will pay off in a big way.

  • Rushing in during a sleep-cry

Rushing during sleep-cry is yet another problem faced by every parent, and rushing during sleep-cry will only awaken the child when they would have simply returned to sleep on their own. And if you’re experiencing the sleep cries within the first 3-4 hours of the baby falling asleep, this is a good sign that your child is overtired. If this sleep cry is happening in 6 months you should wait up to 10 minutes, 11 months up to 15 minutes, and for toddlers, you should least wait for 15 to 20 minutes.

Babies need sleep to grow and develop. But if you’re more concerned about your baby is not getting enough sleep, check with your pediatrician. Hope you liked this article and found it useful.
